Hello. :) Thank you for visiting my little slice of cyberspace, Ty Swint Art. There's another delicious slice on the gram, lol. I'm happy you're here and I'm happy to be here; living, loving and creating. One of the questions I'm often asked is, "What is your art about?" My art is about me, it's about us and it's about love. Loving one another is what I feel we were put on earth to do. How do I express that through my art? I love to express these feelings through my art organically, but creating freely, from what I feel, by what moves me. In my paintings it often shows up through the colors I'm drawing to and how I move the paints across the canvas, creating abstract movements where the colors dance and play, expressing love and joy. My photography often expresses the beauty of every day life. I'm often drawn to capturing God's beauty; nature, the ocean, the mountains. And I also enjoy capturing people and moments, and sensuality. Love, sensuality and the beauty of the woman is what I'm often moved to express in my poems. Overall I love to share the happy parts of life. The parts of life where we enjoy one another, where we enjoy love and expressions of love, good food, wine and drinks, joy, God, travel, music, the beautiful, simple parts of life. I love encouraging myself and others to Just Be and simply enjoy this beautiful, crazy thing called life.
A big hand to heart and God for giving me the most wonderful parents who have nurtured me with so much love and the encouragement to do the things I love and that brings me joy. Thanks to them I have enjoyed being a photographer where I have had awesome opportunities to photograph artists such as Usher and Ludacris at private art events and various music festivals. I stumbled upon a career as an interviewer, interviewing greats such as Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan, two time Oscar winner Ruth E. Carter who is the costume designer for Black Panther and so many more great movies. I'm currently working on my first book of poems, and for more fun I enjoying playing my cutie Lovie, my cajon.
As far as my art style, I create mainly abstract and pop art. Some of my favorite artists are Barkley L. Hendricks. His painting Lawdy Mama is my all time favorite painting. I also like Cy Twombly, Basquiat, Kehinde Wiley, Frida Kahlo, Warhol, Carrie Mae Weems and Keith Herring. Other artists I love are Maya Angelou, Prince, Michael Jackson, D'Anegelo, Beyonce, Brigitte Fontaine, George Michael, Arthur H., Whitney Houston, and Sade just to name a few. All forms of art moves me deeply, so my list of favorites is pretty long.
